We are a community connected by shared African ancestral roots and heritage in Switzerland. Over the years, we have often been welcomed to other gatherings, yet one thing has always stood out: even after more than a decade here, we do not truly have our own collective.
A new generation is now growing up in Switzerland, and it is time to create something of our own. This Christmas Dinner (2025) marks the beginning, a moment to reconnect, share space, and rebuild the sense of togetherness that has been missing since the pandemic.
Looking ahead, we plan to host more events that strengthen our bonds, such as summer BBQs that begin as family-friendly afternoons where children can be part of the community and naturally flow into evening gatherings for adults to unwind, talk, and enjoy good food and music together. These occasions are for everyone — families, friends, and individuals alike — moments that reflect who we are and how we want to grow as a community.
Switzerland may be small, but there are enough of us to build something meaningful, a community where we support one another and create a lasting sense of belonging for all generations.
